About the Webinar

Join K. Singhania & Co.’s Krrishan Singhania and Manoyog GRC Advisors Pvt. Ltd.’s Manoj Sonawala as they discuss insolvency law and proceedings in India. About the Speakers

Krrishan Singhania, Founder & Managing Partner, K. Singhania & Co. (formerly Singhania & Co.), Mumbai, India

Krrishan Singhania has more than 30 years of experience, specializing in commercial and civil litigation, international and domestic commercial arbitration and mediation, insolvency and bankruptcy laws, intellectual property laws, and foreign direct investments. He is a veteran in the field of alternative dispute resolution and has consistently been ranked amongst the top 100 lawyers and legal icons of the country in the annual A-List feature of India Business Law Journal. Owing to his experience of working as a foreign lawyer in New York and London, he brings international best practices to the firm. He is also an expert in the fields of trademark, maritime and aviation law.

The India Business Law Journal recently identified the firm as the Indian Law Firm of 2020 and 2019 in the area of maritime and shipping. The firm has also been ranked as a Tier 4 law firm in the field of commercial and transactions, Tier 5 in the field of construction and a notable firm in the field of international arbitration by Benchmark Litigation in the year 2020. He is active in various chambers of commerce and is a member of International Business Committee of IMC. He is also a Life Associate member of Indian Council of Arbitration, and was a Jurisdiction Council member of Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA).

Manoj Sonawala, Governance Professional, Manoyog GRC Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, India

Manoj Sonawala is a qualified company secretary from ICSI, Delhi and ICSA, London, U.K. In 2016, Mr. Sonawala started an advisory firm to contribute in the field of corporate governance, risk assessment and analysis, risk policy and mitigation plans, corporate compliances, CSR and business sustainability reporting.  He served as general manager corporate and company secretary of Tata Services Ltd. from July, 2007 up to December, 2015. Prior, he had a decade-long association with Forbes Gokak Limited, a flagship company of the Forbes Group, which was part of the Tata Group.

Mr. Sonawala has served as director on the boards of several Forbes Group Companies. He has been invited to serve in 2020-21 as co-chair of the Law Committee of Indian Merchant Chambers for the third consecutive year and was member of the Corporate Governance Committee of IMC for 2018-19 and 2019-20. He is a member of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) and the Governance Committee. Mr. Sonawala has also contributed in the preparation of Secretarial Standards.

He is a regular speaker at WIRC/ CCGRT and various chapters and study circles of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India on various topics related to corporate laws, compliance, governance, risk management and policies, CSR and sustainability reporting, IBC procedures and intricacies, and analysis of decided case laws.
