In a perfect world, you would have all the information you need to make a well-informed credit decision. Latigo Energy Group’s Pat McKinnon will present a topical discussion covering risk assessment, risk tolerance and reflective credit for those times when financial information is sparse.
Pat will discuss the obstacles and solutions for the real-world credit challenges imposed by ever tightening corporate capital management criteria, governance and external influences such as ESG compliance.
Pat McKinnon, founder, Latigo Energy Group, LLC
Pat McKinnon is the founder of Latigo Energy Group, LLC, engaged in commodity infrastructure development and growth of the alternative assurance markets. Prior to Latigo, Pat held the position of senior director at Euler Hermes Energy, the world’s largest credit insurance provider now wholly owned by Allianz, where he was instrumental in developing alternative assurance markets, which provide liquidity for wholesale commodity transactions, transportation and market qualification by clearing credit. His role included product development and distribution across the energy sector.
As associate director with the CME Group, he was responsible for the development of products and services primarily aimed at the physical energy markets and played a major role in the development of CME Direct. Pat maintained an active speaking presence and advisory roles for business operations both domestically and internationally.
As executive director of the industry consortium, ConfirmHub, he built a post transaction straight through processing platform from the ground up. ConfirmHub was supported by NYMEX, GFI, Prebon, Amerex and iCap. After Pat’s development of the platform, CME took over and continues the legacy via CME STP
Earlier in his career he held positions in trading with Occidental Petroleum, trade management with Cinergy and several positions within Amerex from broker to marketing director. Previously, he managed purchasing and delivery of both crude and natural gas for a variety of firms. As president of Buffalo STX Energy, a consortium of independent drillers and operators, he expanded their footprint, improved operations, marketing and capital deployment.
Pat’s career spans more than 30 years, threading field operations, compliance, marketing, trading and infrastructure development ranging from field asset development to full digital deployments and integration.
