Currency Risk:
Fred Dons, Deutsche Bank

Fred will discuss FX risks and currency changes around the globe.

Fred Dons is a Director at Deutsche Bank (DB) Amsterdam, having worked in trade finance for more than 30 years and currently he is responsible for covering the large commodity traders for Deutsche Bank’s Trade Finance organization.

Fred started in trade finance operations in 1989 with AMRO Bank before moving to DB for the first time in 1991. In 1994, Fred and two colleagues started the trade finance sales department at DB Amsterdam where he remained until 2002. In 2003, he became Head of Trade Finance Operations for DB Amsterdam and in 2004, became Head of the European Document Check Team at ABN AMRO before returning to DB in 2006, to serve as the Senior Sales Manager of Trade Finance.

In 2010, Fred became Head of Trade Finance for large cap sales and currently holds the title of Director within Commodity Trade Finance.

Trade Credit Risks:
Jay Tenney, Trade Risk Group

Jay will share his expertise on trade credit risks, global trends and hot spots.


Mr. Tenney has over twenty years of experience in the Trade Credit and Political Risk Insurance markets. As the Managing Director for the Southwest office of Trade Risk Group, the premiere independent specialty broker of Trade Credit Insurance in the U.S., his responsibilities include the managing and generation of accounts receivable insurance policies. Previously, Mr. Tenney was Sales Vice President for Euler Hermes in Dallas, Texas, overseeing the world's largest credit insurer's Southwest Region. During his 20+ year tenure in credit insurance, Mr. Tenney has assisted hundreds of companies with their domestic and international credit risk management needs for all areas of the world. Prior to joining Euler Hermes , Mr. Tenney was Regional Sales Director for a U.S. based medical device provider with domestic and international responsibilities and a Financial Advisor with E.F. Hutton. Mr. Tenney has a BS in Agricultural Economics/Marketing from the University of Illinois, sits on the board of NACM Southwest, is a member of the North Texas District Export Council and has served on the Trade Finance Committee of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce. He is also a frequent speaker at financial and credit related seminars and conferences.

Christiane BergPolitical Hot Spots:
Christiane von Berg, Regional Economist for Northern Europe, Coface


Christiane von Berg is the Regional Economist for Northern Europe at Coface. With over 13 years of experience, she is a generalist in the field of political economy. Von Berg holds a German Magister degree from the University of Mainz with majors in Economics and Political Science (equivalent to a Master's degree). She rounded off her studies with an Advanced Master's degree in international economic research at the renowned Kiel Institute for the World Economy. During her studies, she worked as an assistant to the financial policy spokesperson of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate. She also gained several years of experience in the media sector as an editorial assistant at the political television channel PHOENIX, focusing on election coverage. After her studies, she moved to Bayerische Landesbank (BayernLB), where she worked as an economist with the regions USA and Japan for financial market-oriented macroeconomic research. There, she specialized in financial and monetary policy as well as political risks. In 2019, von Berg joined Coface, where she focuses on country and sector risk analysis in the Northern Europe region.
