About the Speaker

Christiane von Berg, Regional Economist Northern Europe, Coface, Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany

Christiane von Berg is the regional economist of Northern Europe for Coface. With more than 12 years of experience in different fields, she is a generalist in the field of political economy. Christiane has a German master’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Mainz. She completed her studies after a year of economic doctorate courses at the well-known Kiel Institute for the World Economy. During her studies, she worked as an assistant to the spokesperson for financial policy of the CDU parliamentary group at the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate.

In addition, Christiane gained experience in the field of media for several years, as an assistant editor for the German political TV-channel, PHOENIX, focusing on election reporting. After her studies, she joined the Bavarian state bank, BayernLB, where she worked as an economist focusing on the U.S. and Japan in macro-economic research. Here, she specialized on fiscal and monetary policy as well as on political risk. Since 2019, she has worked in the Coface economic research group, where she specializes in country- and sector risks analysis.
